16/7/2009 : Monahans Financial Services Gains Chartered Status
In 2007 the financial advice sector enters a new era of professionalism thanks to the arrival of Chartered status for Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs)
To support leading firms in the financial advice sector, the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has secured agreement from the Privy Council to enable firms, who meet the highest standards of professional practice, to call themselves ‘Chartered Financial Planners’
Monahans Financial Services Ltd (MFSL), a significant local business which advises individuals and businesses on enhancing their wealth, is one of the first firms in the country to be granted Chartered status.
The pinnacle of individual achievement is the award of Chartered Financial Planner status and this has been granted to Managing Director, Steve Missen, who comments. “As we work in a complex and demanding market and have long been subject to strict statutory regulation, we are constantly looking at ways of enhancing our knowledge and capability. We encourage everyone who works at MFSL to improve their own skills through continuous professional development and with CII qualifications at the heart of their learning activity.
Obtaining the corporate Chartered status is of major significance and should be recognised by consumers as a mark of our professionalism in a fast-moving and competitive market. It will also help place MFSL on a par with other professional practices such as accountants and solicitors.”
